ABOUT POW FOOD

A team passionate about the power of nutrition

The POWER of food

Our mission is to make workplace food worth eating, and make it count beyond the plate, as we believe food has the power to change how people feel, think and perform.

There's a lot of noise around sustainable sourcing. We'd rather show our working. Today, 74% of our ingredients are certified organic and 74% of our dishes are plant-forward. The meat we serve comes from farms we work closely with, prioritising grass-fed and free-range, while residual carbon is mitigated through peatland restoration in Yorkshire.

Our menus are nutritionist-designed, chef-made and cooked from scratch in our own north-west London kitchen, bringing together great food, human health and a lighter impact on the planet.

B Corp certified since 2023. The first caterer in the world recognised Works with WELL. Female-founded from day one.

Who We Are

Pow Food puts nutrition at the heart of how London works and gathers.

Behind our operations sit highly trained, passionate chefs, registered nutritionists, sustainability specialists and hospitality operators who have run food service at scale.
They work as one team - nutritionists in the foundations of food design, chefs in the development of dishes, and set sourcing standards.

Our food is cooked from scratch at our kitchens in north-west London, which means we control what goes in and can adapt fast when a client's needs change.

What We Do

We design and deliver nutrition-led catering for workplaces and events across London, from daily office dining and contract catering to conferences, brand activations, private events and team celebrations.

Every menu is developed by our chefs and nutritionists working side by side, combining exceptional food with the nutritional thinking to support energy, focus and overall wellbeing.

For workplaces looking to take that further, our Pow Nutrition Programme brings nutritionist-led workshops, lunch-and-learns and educational experiences directly to teams, and outside the workplace,
our sister brand NUUDA brings the same food philosophy into the home.

Our Story

Pow Food was founded in 2018 by Ali and Emily Warburton - mother and daughter.

Ali brought more than 25 years in high-end catering and events. She built her first catering company from the ground up, catered MTV Cannes for four consecutive years, and launched a nutritionally designed catering service in 2010, well before the market asked for one.

Emily came from luxury hospitality, with a long-standing interest in where food sourcing, environmental impact and human health meet.

Between them they saw the same gap: workplace catering treated as a logistics problem rather than a food one. Their belief was simple - if a business is feeding people every day, what's in the food should be part of the brief, not an afterthought.

That thinking still runs through everything. The ingredients we source, the menus we build, the nutrition education we bring into workplaces. The aim is to make better food part of the everyday, and to keep the cost of it - to farms, soil and climate - in view while we do.

What's changed is the scale, and the size of the team doing it.

Our Food Philosophy

Our approach starts with a simple question: what can this food do for the person eating it?

That thinking shapes every menu we create.

Sustainability

Human health and planetary health are deeply connected. We believe catering should take responsibility for both.

As the UK’s first female-owned catering company to achieve B Corp certification and the first catering company globally to achieve WELL designation, we look beyond what goes onto the plate to consider where ingredients come from, how they are produced and what happens after a meal is served.

  • Reducing food waste

Our Zero Waste Kitchens and Menus are designed to make better use of ingredients throughout our kitchens and operations.

  • Understanding our impact

We measure the carbon footprint of our food and continually look for opportunities to reduce it through sourcing, menu design, packaging and waste.

  • Supporting our communities

We work with organisations including City Harvest and the Marylebone Project to redirect food where it can make a difference.

  • Standards that hold us accountable

Alongside our B Corp certification, we're a Living Wage Employer, SafeContractor approved and part of the From Now Network.

For us, sustainability isn't a separate initiative. It's part of how we source, cook and operate every day.

Balanced Nutrition

  • Nutritionist-designed, chef-made

Our chefs and nutritionists work together to create food that delivers on nutrition without ever compromising on flavour.

  • Organic first

More than 75% of the ingredients we use each day are organic, spanning dairy, fruit, vegetables, grains and pulses, and we continue to push that figure further.

  • Responsibly sourced

We work with trusted suppliers including Sutton Hoo, Ethical Butcher and Rare Breeds, with fish sourced from British waters through Chapman’s Fisheries.

  • No refined sugar or seed oils

We use ingredients such as honey, maple, rapadura and dates for sweetness, alongside our signature blend of organic avocado and light olive oils.

  • Beyond the plate

Through the Pow Nutrition Programme, we bring nutrition education directly into the workplace, with sessions covering everything from Good Mood Food to Boosting Brain Health.

Meet the Team

Behind every Pow Food menu is a team of chefs, nutritionists, sustainability specialists and hospitality experts who believe food can do more. Whether we're developing a new dish, delivering a nutrition workshop, working with our growers and suppliers or serving thousands of people across London, we're united by the same ambition: to create food that tastes exceptional and leaves a positive impact on the people eating it and the world around them.

  • Ali Warburton, Founder & Managing Director

“I built my first catering company from the ground up while raising my family as a single mother, going on to cater MTV Cannes for four consecutive years and work with venues including Ministry of Sound, Pacha London, Fabric and Café Royal.

In 2010, I launched the UK’s first nutritionally designed catering service. Founding Pow Food with Emily in 2018 gave us the opportunity to take that thinking into the workplace, where food has the potential to make an impact every single day.”

  • Emily Warburton-Adams, Co-Founder & Head of Sustainability

“My background has always sat at the intersection of hospitality, sustainability and wellbeing. After years working in high-end hospitality at sea, I trained in Business Sustainability Management at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Today, I lead our sustainability strategy, nutrition standards, B Corp and WELL work, alongside our sister brand NUUDA — always looking at how better food choices can support both people and planet.”

  • Sam Bourne, Head Nutritionist

“I’ve been part of Pow Food from the beginning, helping translate nutritional science into food people genuinely want to eat.

From developing our nutritional promises to creating the Pow Nutrition Programme, my role is about making nutrition practical, accessible and part of everyday working life.”

  • Charles Merrington, Creative Head Chef

“I learned the power and purpose of food early, watching my grandmother run Gay Gourmet in the 1960s.

After more than 20 years in some of London’s leading kitchens, I now lead recipe development at Pow Food with one principle at the centre of everything we create: nutrition-first food should always be flavour-first.”
